In our Steampunk Shop we have fairies, dragons, treasure boxes, skulls, pistol figurines, and jewelry.

I've become intensely curious about the Steampunk era. It was a time when the average person and not just the wealthy could experiment, explore and and make changes to the world around them. Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, H.G. Wells, Jules Verne and many others during the late 1800's were intrigued by the power of steam and mechanical motors, of exploration both in the jungles of Africa and travel throughout time. There were fantasy literature and world's fairs to entertain and inspire the average person to become involved in developing steam engines and practical means to make their lives easier.

Today people enjoy traveling back and forth in time at Steampunk themed shows and gatherings. They wear clothing from the Victorian era, jewelry designed from mechanical parts like bolts, nuts, and gears, and carry faux pistols that have the classic lines of Steampunk look. Materials common to Steampunk art are polished brass, iron, wood, and leather and you will easily find Steampunk influences in today's fashion and art.

If you were to ask me 5 years ago whether I would be selling guns and skulls online the answer would be "no". But the world is constantly changing and I've come to actually enjoy this art form. .
