Fairy Dolls
Amy Brown was born in
Bellingham, Washington and, like most talented artists, began drawing at a young age.
"Sometimes I get frustrated because I have so many
ideas fighting to come out. Every painting has so many
possibilities. I was never one of those children
who daydreamed of growing up to become an artist. I just
ASSUMED that was what I would be. It was never a question of
'do I want to be an artist?'. Often there are days when I
really don't want to paint, I HAVE to paint. The urge to
create is almost a wild, living entity trapped inside me,

Amy Brown's imaginative fairies touch upon emotions and aspects of every day life. It's no wonder that
she is such a popular artist.
New for Summer of 2007 is a collection of six fairy dolls
inspired from the art of Amy Brown: Naughty, Captured
Moon, Night Blossoms, Red, Sweet and Winter Secrets. The dolls are
composed of a blend of hard cast resin that is hand painted
with facial features and tattoos :-). The clothing is
made of soft material and accented with satin ribbon and
other embellishments.
The hair is distinctive and seems to be a blend of pearl
cotton yarns with threads of metallic lame.
And the wings are made of durable, hand dyed paper embellished with
sparkling fairy dust and attached to a wire form so that you
can fluff them out as desired.
The dolls themselves are posed and not bendable.
They range in size from 4 to 12" tall. The
two standing dolls are constructed as a doll from the waist
up and are supported by a metal rod and coordinated resin
base.
As I mentioned above, these dolls are inspired by the art of
Amy Brown. I thought it would be fun to display her
inspirational paintings alongside each doll.
Update: 8/27 the dolls have sold out and unfortunately
will not return to inventory for at least two months.

a two tone blue shimmering gown that is embellished
with stars and satin trim. She's fluttering her
beautiful blue wings and gazing down at her crystal orb.
She would look wonderful displayed alongside your Moon

Naughty Fairy is wearing
a cute blue skirt and pale pink top along with stripped
leggings. She's a "shelf sitter" and can be displayed
on the edge of a shelf, your computer, or on a cute chair
like the one pictured above that's in my personal
collection. It's the fairy dressing table by Faerie
Glen - retired - but possibly available in stores or online.

Red Fairy is red hot and
another "shelf sitter" in this collection of fairies by Amy
Brown. Red is wearing a sultry red dress,
thigh highs and rhinestone garters. Her wings are a
darker shade of red that have lots of fairy dust on them.

Winter Secrets is
wearing a blue faux leather corset trimmed with tulle (a
fine sheer netting material), matching sheer tulle
petticoat ed and of course, stripped leggings.
Winter Secrets is blue hot and is a "shelf sitter".
I placed her alongside a butterfly figurine from my personal
collection so you can see how nicely she'll integrete with
your other collectibles. Her wings are blue and silver
and have a feathery design on them.

Dressed in purple and
very pretty with long blonde hair and beautiful fairy wings,
Sweet Fairy is the only flying fairy of this group.
She has a clear loop attached to her back so that you can
hang her from a ceiling hook or a fairy stand.
